Abstract
612,912. Garment hangers. GLEN, M. A. June 6, 1946. No. 17174. [Class 52 (v)] [Also in Group VII] A device for protecting and preserving the shape of stockings and like articles of wearing apparel, comprises a roller a of a length determined by the width of the article with which it is to be used, and a loop or bail b extending along the length of the roller and having its ends turned in and pivotally supported in the end faces of the roller about an axis b<1> eccentric to that of the roller so that on relative rotation of the two the article will be firmly gripped between them. On the face of the roller remote from the pivotal axis b', a flattened or other cam surface is provided terminating in a ridged portion against which the bail b will lie when rotated and clamp the stocking. The device may be suspended as a hanger by providing a hook c or ring suspension d or both, pivoted in a recess e on the roller a, each being capable of swivelling about the axis of its shank.
