Abstract
612,848. Storage bunkers. McHUGH, J. May 30, 1946, No. 16430. [Class 20(i)] A storage bunker, e.g. for the storage of coal or coke for domestic use, comprises a top K, Fig. 1, and four walls formed as precast concrete slabs, the walls being secured together at their edges by means of metallic angle pieces 1, Fig. 2, bolted at H to the inner faces of the walls. The bolt-holes J in the angle pieces I may be elongated to allow for variations in the thickness of the slabs. The top slab K is preferably retained in position by means of angle pieces M or by locating lugs moulded upon the underside of the slab K at suitable positions. The edges of the filling orifice O have a raised lip R to engage the flanged edges of a sheet metal lid P, which may be loose or hinged to the top slab K. The delivery opening F may be provided with a metal door W slidable between two channel or angle-section battens X secured to the front slab A. The slabs may be reinforced by metallic bars.
