Abstract
612,669. Plate, etc., racks. NIEBOER, H. A. May 29, 1946, No. 16387. [Class 28(ii)] A plate. etc., rack comprises a frame having end pieces 2 connected front and rear by pairs of horizontal rods 1, 11 carrying two or more superposed shelves 4 each shelf having a central drainage channel 5, and partitioning rods 8 between the shelves. The pairs of rods 8 are united at the top by an inverted V, 9, and have swellings or collars formed on them to locate them removably in the holes. Each shelf may be of shallow V-section and may have transverse upstanding ribs 7 in alignment with the holes. The holes are plunged upwards to provide an upstanding metal surround for each collar of the rods. The device may be easily taken to pieces for packing. The top shelf is lower than the top of the frames 2 which thereby form handles for carrying. The edges of the shelves are bent down to fit over the rods, 1 and 11, and their lengths are shorter than the rods to allow clearance for attachment of the frame to wall hooks. Each shelf may be wider at one side of its channel than at the other side to provide room for cups in front of the plates.
