610,753. Pneumatic tools. CLIMAX ROCK DRILL & ENGINEERING WORKS, Ltd., and STEPHENS, R de H. ST. April 15, 1946, No. 11577. [Class 124] In a pneumatic tool in which the air supply is automatically cut-off when the water supply falls below a predetermined pressure, the pressure water acts on a slidable piston 8 or on a yieldable diaphragm in a cylinder 7 close to the side of a water passage 3, the piston or diaphragm actuating a slidable rod 10 having a cam surface 14 which operates a sliding air valve 17. The rod 10 is prevented from turning by means of a key 12 engaging a groove 13 and is returned by a spring 11. The cam surface 14 engages a ball 15 carried by the push-rod 16 of the valve 17 which is returned by a spring 18 and is formed with forward and rearward extensions 20, 21. The air supplied to a union 25 passes through a groove 26 and a recess 27 to a passage 28, air vent ports being provided at 30... 33. Specifications 550,937 and 601,577 are referred to.
