608,982. Mops. CORBETT, R. S. March 4, 1946, No. 6615. [Class 19] A mopping device comprises a mop-head adapted to be attached to a tubular handle through which water is supplied to the head, wherein a tubular fitment forming a mop core is secured to the handle and has a bundle of yarn secured thereto, the yarn being doubled back on itself so that the free ends extend over the end of the core from which the water issues and the doubled-over portion of the yarn is encased by a rubber or like flexible sleeve, closed at the rear, the handle passing through the sleeve. As shown, a central fitment a receives the threaded end of a tubular handle d connected to a water-hose i. A bundle of yarn e is tied to the fitment a at the grooves band c, a portion of the yarn being tied together over a rubber nozzle f on the end of the fitment. A rubber sleeve g is placed over the doubled ends of the yarn and a rubber cap h (which may be made integral with the sleeve), having a non-drip flange h<SP>1</SP>, is provided to close the sleeve. The handle d passes through a hole in the cap in water-tight fit.
