Abstract
Dimers of 1,2-dihydronaphthalene prepared by treating the monomer with sulphuric acid of 75 to 85 per cent strength at a temperature ranging from 20 DEG to 200 DEG C. are mixed with a solid polystyrene having a molecular weight lying between 60,000 and 120,000 to give a composition which is solid at room temperatures. The dimer may be liquid, crystalline or a mixture of these. U.S.A. Specification 2,168,011 is referred to.
