Abstract

607,239. Head-sets. STEVENS, A.. H. (Soundscriber Corporation). Jan. 29, 1946, No. 2834. [Class 40 (iv)] A headphone comprises a U-shaped band 10 of flexible stiff material shaped to,fit about the head and a receiver unit 38 secured rigidly to one end of the band to set the entire band into acoustic vibration. A second receiver unit 38 is normally connected to the other end of the band and the latter is flat in section and shaped as shown. The band may be reinforced by a metal strip 39 held in place by U-shaped clips 40, 41 and 42 which may also hold a cable 45 connecting the receivers. The latter comprise a magnet 25 co-operating with an armature 30 mounted on a diaphragm 33 secured by a driving rod 35 to the head-band strip.
