[A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Oct. 26, 1945.] [Classes 97 (i) and 98 (i)] A plate shutter lies parallel to the film and has plane reflectors on its forward face at the side of the exposure aperture and inclined at 45 degrees to the plate with their directions of maximum inclination perpendicular to the direction of shutter movement. The reflectors reflect the objective light beam into a view-finder. As shown, the shutter plate 4 with inclined mirrors 10, 11 moves in guides 7, 8 and has an aperture 9 registering with the gate aperture 3 for exposure. The light from the reflectors forms an image on a screen 12. During exposure the screen is covered by a shield 13 extending forwardly from and at rightangles to the shutter plate. In a modification, the shutter plate moves in the direction of film movement and the reflector on each side of the exposure aperture is replaced by a pair in roof formation, the dividing line being along the direction of movement. The oppositely directed parts of the light beam are subsequently recombined by reflectors.
