Abstract

606,684. Heat-exchangers for fluids. MYTTON'S, Ltd. Oct. 3, 1945, No. 25668. Convention date, Feb. 25, 1943. [Classes 64(i) and 64(iii)] In a heat-exchange vessel such as a preserving pan, cooking vessel, hot water boiler or cooler, the passages for circulating the heating or cooling fluid are formed by and between one or more sheet metal members 7 having channels formed by flutings 8 and the external surfaces of the walls and/or bottom of the vessel 6, to which the members 7 are welded by flanges 10 or connecting webs 11. In a modification, Fig. 4, the wall of the vessel is surrounded by a plate having a series of flutings 12 spaced vertically and communicating with flutings 13 passing circumferentially around the upper and lower ends of the vertical flutes. The bottom of the vessel may be provided with separate circulatory passages 17 the ends of which communicate with concentric header passages 17<1>, 17<11> the outer passage being connected with the channels around the sides of the vessel.
