Abstract
604,870. Switch contacts; mechanical switches. TUCKER, J. B. Dec. 7, 1945, Nos. 33096/45 and 31808/46. [Class 38 (v)] A butt contact of a switch is in the form of a deformable pad of fine wires. A flexible moving contact d secured to a fixed terminal block d<1> is operated by a tumbler or turnbutton acting through a roller d<2>. The contact d engages a pad a<2> of fine wires clamped between a terminal block a and the switch base, the ends of the wires being held in a bore a3 by a screw a'. The deformable pad may form part of the moving contact d or the latter may have an arcing-tip.
