604,419. Winding yarn. CLARK, D. M. (Abbott Machine Co.). Sept. 28, 1944, No. 12177/47. Divided out of 604,354. Drawings to Specification. [Class 120(ii)] In a yarn winding machine having individual winding units, each unit having means, including a driven shaft, for rotatig a winding bobbin, means for distributing yarn on the bobbin, including a reciprocating guide and a double-throw flat cam and a cam follower driven by the cam for reciprocating the guide, a worm on the driven shaft and a worm wheel to drive the cam therefrom, the cam profile is such that each revolution thereof imparts to the follower two throws each consisting of two strokes, the two strokes, which are in opposite directions being of different lengths and preferably having, in succession, the ratios 1# in., 1¢ in., 1# in., 1¢ in. The invention is particularly described as applied to the machine described in Specification 604,354. Specification 522,664 also is referred to.
