604,023. Propelling amphibians. FOOD MACHINERY CORPORATION. Nov. 21, 1945, No. 31308. Convention date, Sept. 20, 1944. [Classes 113 (ii) and 114] An amphibian 10 has two pontoons 17, mounted one on each side of the hull 11, each surrounded by an endless track-laying belt 50 and each housing a conduit 52 containing an auxiliary water propeller 65. Each propeller is selectively driven in conjunction with its associated endless belt, from the engine via a drive sprocket 34, gear box 36, shafts 81, 82, 63 and universal joint 66. Each conduit is provided with water guide vanes 55.
