Abstract
603,761. Drying pottery. BOULTON, Ltd., W., and LEWIS, R. T. Nov. 20, 1945, No. 31117. [Class 34(ii)] A drying stove 10 has a number of pottery-supporting units 19 each comprising a vertical series of shelves, carried by a frame 11 or cage rotatable about its central vertical axis 12 to carry the supporting units from a point of loading opposite an opening 15 in the stove, through the stove, and round more or less to the first position for unloading and reloading. The units 19 have straight shelves, pivotally mounted and, while they travel round the stove the shelves extend radially, but in unloading or loading they can be swung round to present themselves more easily to the operative. Partitions 18 carried by the frame 11 prevent heat escaping from the stove as each unit registers, in turn with the opening 15. In a modification, each unit has a central partition forming part of the partition 18 when the shelf is swung inwards. The shelf units may be centrally pivoted. Specification 493,852 is referred to.
