Abstract

[Class 45] [Also in Group X] In a sliding door, gate, or shutter comprising a plurality of rigid members arranged in spaced parallel relationship at right angles to the direction of travel of the members, the members are longitudinally split and a single panel of flexible material or a plurality of panels extends or extend between and is or are secured to the split sections of the members to close the spaces between the members, the arrangement being such that the door, gate or shutter can travel in a curved path in suitable guides with the rigid members maintained in their spaced parallel relationship. In one form as shown in Fig. 4, a single flexible panel 19 is secured between the rigid members 10 whose halves are held together by rivets 17. In another form, Fig. 3, plates 16 are held between the split sections of the members 10 by rivets 17 whilst transverse flexible strips 18 are secured to the members 10. The panels in both forms may be of transparent material.
