602,491. Road vehicles. OSTER, L. E. W. MONTROSE-, and POLLOPAS PATENTS. Ltd. Aug. 9, 1945, No. 20409. [Class 79 (v)] Regulating and controlling.-The accelerator is controlled by a laterally displaceable lever 4, 5a moveable by the driver's knee or leg about the vertical pivot 3, the lever being adjustable to suit the driver. Vertical adjustment to suit different drivers is provided by pivoting the lever at 6, a friction device being provided between the parts 4 and 5a to maintain the lever in the desired vertical position. A lost motion linkage may be provided between the lever and the carburetter, e.g. a pin-and slot device 11, 12, whereby the operating lever can be parked against the steering column, as at 5, when not in use, to facilitate entry and exit of the driver. The normal foot control may be added to the extension 17 of the rod 14, if desired. Instead of the lever 7, link 10 and arm 13, a pair of bevel wheels may be employed.
