[Class 29] One of the drawers 41 of a refrigerator of the kind described in Specification 581,121 has an insulated bottom 50 and sides 51, and co-operates when closed with an insulating member 54 overlying the drawer to form an enclosure refrigerated by evaporator coils 56 in the same circuit as the main evaporator coils 21 of the refrigerator or separate therefrom. The upper portion 12 of the refrigerator contains an evaporator 20 enclosing ice trays, and is set back on the lower portion 11 the top 13 of which forms a table surface, and which contains the drawers 40, 43. An extension 24 of the evaporator coil 21 extends above the top drawer 40 to cool the lower portion 11, and the further cooling coil 56 which may be separate from the coils 21, 24 extends within or directly under the insulated horizontal member 54 overlying the drawer 41 and forming a top for this drawer in the closed position. The bottom, sides, and front and rear walls of the drawer 41 are insulated and the top 54 has a downwardly projecting rear end 55 inclined to make a close fit with the rear wall of the drawer. The coil 56 may be in a separate refrigerating circuit controlled by a switch 59. The partition 44 between the compartments can be omitted and the cold air from the coils 21 allowed to pass to the lower portion. Fig. 4 shows a modification in which a stationary frozen food compartment 70 is arranged beneath the table top 13 accessible by a removable lid 77 and cooled by a coil in the bottom 74 or the side walls. To loosen the frozen food drawer 41 if it becomes frozen to its guides a cam is turned by a handle at the front of the drawer to raise the drawer slightly, and returned to its normal position by a spring.
