Abstract

663,806. Refrigerators. STERNE & CO., Ltd., L., and CARRUTHERS, D. S. Oct. 10, 1950 [Oct. 10, 1949], No. 25909/49. Class 29 A refrigerator cabinet particularly for freezing water-ice confections, comprises a chamber 1 shown in plan cooled by evaporator coils around its outer surface and having a fixed vertical partition 2, in an opening 3 near one end of which is arranged a fan 4, and two removable vertical partitions 5. The fixed partition 2 has two openings 6A, 6B closed by removable slides 7A, 7B. To freeze a full batch of confections, the partitions 5 are removed, the slide 7A placed in position and the confections are filled into the chamber on both sides of the partition 2. The fan 4 circulates the air of the chamber through the opening 6B 'and back to the fan. When the freezing is complete the partitions 5 and the slide 7B are replaced and the slide 7A is removed. Confections may then be served from the sub-compartments on the side of the partitions 5 remote from the fan 4, while the cold air circulates only through the other sub-compartments and the opening 6A. Separate access lids are provided on either side of the partitions 5.
