Abstract

602,284. Electric fans. SPENCER, T. D., and PATENT LIGHTING CO., Ltd. Oct. 13, 1945, No. 26828. [Class 110 (i)] In a fan of which the motor 6, Fig. 1, is mounted on a base 1 for gyratory movement produced by a crank arm 10 pivoted to the base and rotated about the motor axis through reduction gearing, the reduction gear includes a reaction gear-wheel 17, Fig. 4, an output gear-wheel 20 coaxial therewith and having a pitch circle diameter differing slightly from that of the reaction wheel, and an input member 21 coaxial with the wheels 17, 20 and on which is journalled eccentrically a gearwheel 28 meshing with the wheels 17, 20. The wheels 17, 20 have 100 and 99 teeth respectively. Wheels 29, 30, in fixed angular relationship, but with teeth relatively displaced half a tooth pitch, may be arranged on a second journal 27 on the input member diametrically opposite to the journal 26 carrying the wheel 28. The journal 27 and wheels 29, 30 may be replaced by a balance weight.
