[Class 44] [Also in Group VII] A coupling device comprises an element housing a resilient member with a beak-shaped head which engages a notch in a second element, thereby compressing a spring ; when the beak is disengaged from its notch, the spring forces the elements apart. A cuff-link comprises two identical outer rod members 1, 2; perpendicular to rod 1 is fixed an axially recessed lug 3 having a bulged part 4 at its free end, and housing in the bottom of its recess 5 a spring 6 held by a pin 7, which also serves to fix the rod 1 and the sleeve 8 of the lug 3 ; these two parts 1, 8 may be welded together. Fitted in the second rod 2 in its recessed lug 10, which has a bulged part 11, is a cylindrical rod 13 which has a lateral recess 14 engaged by a beak 17 at the end of a blade member 15 pivoted on a pin 16, which also secures the rod 13. The other end of the blade 15 is attached to a piston 18 which slides in an axial recess in the rod 2, being spring-urged outwardly so that the beak 17 projects from the rod 13 ; alternatively, half of the rod 2 slides in the other half which houses the opposing spring 20. The buttonholes of the cuff are placed between the rods and bulges, then the end of the rod 13 is pressed into the recess 5 of the lug 3 until the beak 17 engages in a notch 9 therein, so that the spring 6 is compressed. To uncouple the members, the projecting end of the piston 18 is pressed so that the beak 17 is disengaged from its notch 9, the spring 6 forcing the members apart.
