[Class 20(ii)] Relates to shuttering for concrete construction having curved contours, and consists in a form comprising (i) a flexible metal sheet 1 to the back of which are secured, e.g. by welding, stiffeners 2, 3, 8; (ii) bars 11, which are either flexible or are stiff and of pre-formed curvature, secured across the stiffeners to allow relative transverse movement between the bars and some of the stiffeners, e.g. by screws 12 in slots 13, and (iii) material 14 flexible in one direction, e.g. corrugated sheet metal, disposed between the bars 11 and the sheet 1, which are spaced apart by the stiffeners. The stiffener 2 at one edge is of channel section facing outwards, and the stiffener 3 at the opposite edge has a projection (or projections) adapted to nest in a corresponding stiffener 2 of an adjacent form, the construction being similar to that described in Specification 600,542. The corrugated sheets 14 may be arranged so that a stiffener 8 lies within a corrugation of each sheet, which is retained by a bolt 12. The edges of separate sheets may lie at the sides of other stiffeners 8. The ends of the bars 11, instead of being slotted, may be forked, Fig. 8, and the surface of the bar-ends, whether forked or slotted, may be provided with serrations 16 for engagement by a correspondingly serrated washer 17 beneath the head of the bolt. Alternatively to the slots 13, the bars 11 may be passed through hooks or eyes fixed, preferably by bolting, to the stiffeners 8, and the location of the hooks or eyes may be varied relatively to the length of the stiffeners by providing a plurality of bolt holes. For narrow forms the stiffeners 8 may be omitted. The form may be used flat i.e. with straight bars 11. A plurality of forms may be connected by any convenient means, e.g. the clamps described in Specification 600,544, [Group XXIII], and the forms may be used in conjunction with those described in Specification 600,542 to produce curved surfaces merging into flat surfaces.
