Abstract

599,034. Tools for removing wheels from shafts. ATHERTON, H. Sept. 12, 1945, No. 23536. [Class 61 (iii)] A device for removing wheels from shafts consists of a framework holding Abutment plates against which the wheel is placed and a screw-threaded rod member which is adapted to push against the shaft. The framework 1 is provided with bars 2 which form slots between them, into which holding plates 3, in two parts. are held. One end of the framework is closed by a plate 6 having a nut 7 in which works the thrust screw 8 which is provided with a hardened ball end 9 and at the other end an operating handle 10. Attached to the framework 1 is a channel member 12 in which a flat bar 13 is free to slide provided with V-btocks 14 to support the shaft 15 to be operated upon. In use, the wheel 16 abuts against the holding plates 3 and the shaft 15 is pushed out by means of the screw-threaded rod 8.
