Abstract

598,519. Travelling bags. CHABOT, C. J. Nov. 7, 1945, No. 29723. [Class 133] A travelling bag comprises a rigid foundation a to which is adjustably attached a bar e' for carrying clothes and about which is symmetrically attached a cover b forming side flaps b' provided with sliding fasteners g for joining the marginal edges f, the whole being carried by handles h attached to the foundation. As shown, the cover b of thin leather, rubberised fabric, oiled silk or sheet plastic is sewn by stitches h<1> to the foundation a of bent tube or the like having perforated straps c to receive the ends of the bar e<1>. A side pocket l' is also provided. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown) the foundation is in the form of a tube a' into which canisters a<2> (for toilet requisites and small articles) can be inserted, the tube being attached to the central part of the cover by sewing, clips, clasps, rivets, &c.
