Abstract

1482856 Shopping bags N G PUI CHIK [trading as RISING HANDICRAFTS MANUFACTORY] 5 Aug 1975 32733/75 Heading B8K A foldable shopping bag 1 comprises a flexible container having a mouth and defined by substantially rectangular front and back faces 6 interconnected by substantially rectangular side faces 7 and a base 8, the base being secured in face-to-face contact with an exterior reinforcing panel 11 of a similar shape to the base. The panel 11 is foldable and securable in the folded condition to define covers 13 between which the folded container can be accommodated. As described the bag comprises two sheets of nylon fabric stitched along seams 2, and has handles 14. The base 8 is stitched at 9 to the panel 11 which is of stiff plastics or leather. The bag can be collapsed and the panel 11 folded along a hinge line 12 so that the collapsed bag is accommodated between the covers 13 which may be held in the closed condition, Fig. 1, by a sliding clasp fastener 16 secured to their edges.
