[Class 20(iii)] [Also in Group XXXII] A weather strip particularly for vehicle doors comprises an S - section metal retainer strip 35, Fig. 6, one channel 36 of which is fixed to the inner jamb edge 12a, Fig. 2, and the other 37 is adapted to secure one edge of a circular, flexible, sealing-strip 40. In Fig. 2, the edge 12a of the door frame 12 is enclosed by the channel 36 of the retaining strip, the inner plate 13 of the frame being formed with depressions 14 into which lugs 38 are hammered to retain the strip to the frame. The flexible sealing strip 40, of thermoplastic material or rubber, is gripped by one edge in the channel 37, the other edge being free to bear on the frame 12 such that the strip is deformed by contact with the inner edge 49 of the doors 10, 11. The retainer strip may be provided with spikes 39 to pierce the flange of a windlace 46, or in a modification a further channel 55, Fig. 8 (not shown), may be provided to grip the windlace. A trim panel 15 on the frame covers the flange of the windlace and a further trim panel 16 may be housed in a recess 28 in the door.
