Abstract

The weatherproof beading is used on vehicle doors and bodywork. It is formed from a hollow cellular rubber or plastics section (1) which is bonded under heat and pressure in the manufacturing stage onto a U-shaped plastics section (6) which is reinforced by a metal strip (7). The beading is clipped onto the rim projecting from the vehicle inside door panels, using the metal sprung U-shaped plastics section as the clip. The lip (8) rests inside the vehicle body and the door close against the outer face (2), compressing the cellular material to form a weather tight seal.
