597,604. Stoppers. POPPER, J. Aug. 23, 1945, No. 21602. [Class 125 (iii)] A stopper for bottles and similar containers comprises a top 4 of rigid material provided with a substantially cylindrical cavity 5 which has an opening of smaller diameter so as to form a circular flange 6, and a truncated - ellipsoidal body 1 formed by compressing radially at its larger end a truncated cone of elastic material and introducing the compressed end into said cavity. The body material expands to fill cavity 5, as indicated at 7, and also fills notches 8 which . may be made in the edge of flange 6 to prevent relative rotating movement between top and body.
