Abstract
596,265. Power meters; supply meters. LANDIS & GYR SOC. ANON. July 25, 1945, No. 19072. Convention date, Feb. 21, 1941. [Class 37] In a volt-ampere meter of the type wherein an internal difference of phase between the current and voltage driving fluxes is predetermined at more than 90 degrees for a fixed power factor range, this phase difference characteristic is obtained by division of the current coil system into two oppositely wound parallel connected branch coils 7<1>, 4<2>, 5<1>, 5<2>, wherein the current conditions are so adjusted relative to one another, e.g. by an ohmic resistance 6 in series with branch coil 4<1>, 4<2>, as to produce a resultant driving flux which leads the voltage flux by more than 90 degrees for the selected power factor range, e.g. 0.5 to 0.9. A shunt core 7 which surrounds the poles of the current magnet between the coil branches acts to conduct the flux produced by the coils 5<1>, 5<2>.
