Abstract

595,984. Tipping vehicles. HOLE, E. July 12, 1945, No. 17821. [Class 108 (i)] A tractor trailer has a tipping body portion C moved laterally of the vehicle upon rollers D by a pair of chains E connected to the ends of a spindle K passing beneath the body C and fitted with runners working in inclined tracks L; the chains E pass over pulleys H to winding drums F with operating handle G<1> and the body is tilted as the spindle is drawn up the tracks L by the chains E. A chain N attached to a central drum on the shaft carrying drums F restrains.the body C at the end of its outward movement and is also wound up so as to return the body when handle G' is turned so as to unwind the chains E.
