Abstract
595,896. Load-handling machines; skips. CARR, E. July 21, 1945, No. 18734. [Classes 78(iii) and 78(iv)] Apparatus for use in the erection of buildings comprises a carrier for the material having a bottom comprising two pivoted members which are retained in the closed position by sliding bolts. These bolts are withdrawn to release the material by actuating cranked levers connected to them. The carrier is guided on a vertical tubular track 7 and is hoisted by a winch 23 or by electrical, means, the track being rotatable about a pivoted hook 10 at the top. The two pivoted sections 15, 16, Fig. 1 of the bottom of the carrier 13 are retained in the closed position by bolts 17, Fig. 2, which can be withdrawn by actuating cranked levers 18, 19 and 20 through a cord 26 to permit the doors to open automatically. The vertical track 7 is slotted and receives a bracket 3 on which are mounted rollers 9 at one end and the carrier 13 at the other. The carrier may be provided with a hinged flap to facilitate loading.
