Abstract
594,927. Adhesive tape dispensers. PAKCEL, Ltd., and FONTENOY. P. Y. July 4, 1945,. No. 17045. [Class 73] A device to facilitate the severance of adhesive tape into strips comprises a metal base 1 having at its ends a pair of metal brackets 2 apertured to receive rotatably a spindle 3, turned by a hand wheel. The spindle 3 is provided with a pair of flanges 5, inside the brackets 2, which are slotted as at 9 to receive a plurality of metal bars 6 set skew between them, the bars being placed in the appropriate slots to get various spacings. Adhesive tape 12, particularly regenerated cellulose tape, is wound helically round the skeleton spool thus formed, the skew setting of the metal bars 6 being such that the tape 12 is always aoproximately perpendicular to them. A wafer knife then drawn along one side of the bars 6 cuts the tape into strips which are retained on the device by one end by their self adhesive properties and may be removed as required.
