Abstract

594,265. Laminated springs. WOODHEAD & SONS, Ltd., J., and BERRY. W. R. June 21, 1945, No. 15813. [Class 108 (iii)] In laminated springs of the kind in which one side of some or all of the several plates 1 is formed with one or more longitudinal channels or grooves 2 so that enclosed spaces are left between them when in assembled relation, lubricant retaining material 3 is disposed in the enclosed spaces and the plates are secured together by clamping means 4 which have means for introducing lubricant to the spaces and material. In the construction shown the plates 1 are secured by a bolt 4 having an axial oil passage 6 leading from a nipple 7 to radial ducts 5 which communicate with wick or felt 3.
