Abstract
800,601. Turbine - driven superchargers. EBERSPACHER, W., and EBERSPACHER, H., [trading as EBERSPACHER, J.]. Nov. 12, 1954 [Nov. 24, 1953], No. 32931/54. Addition to 684,485. Class 110 (3). The invention of the parent Specification is modified in that the radial bores 4 in the turbineblower shaft 2 which communicate with the axial bore 3 therein are extended by means of radial bores 9 provided in the oil spray disc 8 which is secured to the shaft and is disposed within the lubricant chamber 5. An annular space 6 is provided between the shaft and the inner periphery of the spray disc, the radial bores in the shaft and in the spray disc communicating with the space 6. In a second embodiment, Fig. 2, instead of the axial and radial bores, a longitudinally-extending groove 10 is formed in the periphery of the shaft, the groove commtnicating at one end with atmosphere and at the other with an annular groove 6 formed in the inner periphery of the oil spray disc 8. Radial bores 9 formed in the disc communicate with the annular groove. The longitudinal groove 10 may alternatively communicate with the space behind the blower impeller as indicated at 12.
