[Class 61 (ii)] A fluid pressure operated vice comprises a wedge 8 carried by the plunger 6 and disposed between rollers on the adjacent arms of a pair of bell-crank levers 48, the other arms of which have rollers bearing on a pair of slidable rods 28 contacting the rear end of a slide 29 carrying the movable jaw 4 which is first set on the slide 29 by the clamp screw 30 near to the size of the work and then the clamping pressure applied by admitting fluid to the cylinder 2 by the rotary valve 25.
