Abstract

593,887. Testing ventilators. DAVIES, L. G. June 19, 1945, No. 15617. [Class 137] [Also in Groups XXIX and XXXIII] An apparatus for testing ventilators comprises a tunnel 2, a centrifugal fan 3 and a flange 6 attached to one end of the tunnel in which are situated bell mouthed apertures 8. A screen 7 is secured to the flange 6 and has an aperture 9 in which is mounted the ventilator. Bungs 12 and a shutter 13 are provided for closing the apertures 8 and 9 respectively. The velocity of the fluid through the apertures 8 is measured by a pilot tube 10. An inspection window 16 is provided. Specification 551,198, [Group XXXV], is referred to.
