Abstract

591,971. Rendering or surfacing concrete walls. WEBB, W. H. April 18, 1945, No. 9720. [Class 20 (ii) ] The rendering or surfacing of concrete walls is carried out simultaneously with their construction. In Fig. 1, the concrete is shown in sectior at 8 and the rendering or sur. facing material at 9 and 10 The arrangement of shuttering consists in two spaced panels 1 and 2 which are lowered in sections bolted together at 11 and 12 and constitute the main shuttering, and two sheet metal sliding shutters 3 and 4 spaced apart by handles 5 and spaced from the main shuttering by distance pieces 6 and 7. The concrete is poured into the cavity between the sliding shutters and the rendering or surfacing material is poured into the spaces between the sliding shuttering and the main shuttering, guided if desired by suitable deflectors (not shown). Sliding shutters 3 and 4 are raised by handles 5 as the work proceeds while the materials are still wet, so that as the concrete wall is built up the rendering or surfacing material is simultaneously applied to its faces. The material may be applied to one or both faces of the wall, and may be varied in nature according to requirements.
