Abstract

5 9 1 ,746. Magazine gramophones. INDUSTRIAKTIEBOLAGET LUXOR. May 15, 1945, No. 12147. Convention date, May 22, 1944. [Class 40 (ii)] A magazine gramophone, in which records are supported above the turntable on a stepped centre post 3, has a record-steadying device serving to keep the records level, consisting of a curved arm 7 which is free to rotate in a horizontal direction and to move bodily in a vertical direction. The lower end of the shaft 8 is fitted with a lever 10 which, when the arm 7 is moved anticlockwise, comes into contact with the sloping surface 14 of a bracket 11 mounted on the underside of the base-plate 1, and thereby serves to lift the arm 7 from the. surface of the uppermost record. The level surface 12 of the bracket 11 is provided with sufficient clearance from the lever 10 to permit the arm 7 to fall to a lower position than that occupied by the lowermost record of the stack, and so trip a mechanism (not shown) which switches off the motor when the last record has been played. Means (not shown) may be coupled to the arm 7 to enable the recordchanging mechanism to be put out of action when the arm 7 is moved anticlockwise to its inoperative position.
