[Class 40 (iv)] In a switch of the type described in Specification 591, 523, the two portions of an inoperative wiper are separated by insulating member 21 which are mounted on pivot pins 22 and 24, and are brought into engagement with inwardly bent portions of the springs 5 (Fig. 2) when a shift bar 25 engages stops 34 at the end of the travel of the carriage in each direction, so that the wipers become operative for traverse in one direction and inoperative for the other. Specification 563,501 also is referred to.
