Abstract

590,441. Mixing-machines. TYLER, S., BOX, W. E., and CLARIDGE, J. T. April 18, 1945, No. 9677. [Class 86] On each rotation of the rotary drum 5 of a blending apparatus for tea or other material a pin 22 on the drum strikes a lever 23 to operate the trip arm of a switch mechanism 27 which transmits an electrical impulse to a preselector mechanism 28. After a certain number of revolutions of the drum, predetermined by the setting of a lever 28a, the mechanism 28 operates to open the circuit of the driving motor and the drum is brought to rest. Means is provided for stopping the driving motor independently of the mechanism 28, and on restarting the rotation after an interruption the mechanism 28 operates on the completion of the number of revolutions outstanding when the interruption occurred. The charging opening of the drum 5 is closed by intergeared doors 17 operated by a lever 18.
