Abstract
590,438. Cutlery. BARNES, S. H. April 17, 1945, No. 9610. Convention date, May 26, 1944. [Class 30] [Also in Groups XXII and XXIII] Cutlery made from sheet metal blank includes a front portion 3 for use as a knife blade or pronged element and an integral handle 6 generally S-shaped in cross section with its free edges 4, 5 disposed between top and bottom tangent planes of the S-shape. The handle may be tapered from its outer end to the portion 3. In a modification, Fig. 6, the handle is formed with a longitudinal fluted rib 9 which merges into the portion 3. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also describes two modified handles. One Fig. 7 (Cancelled), is of sinuous cross-section and has three grooves 12, 13, 14, the inner groove 13 of which merges at 15 into the portion 3. The other, Fig. 8 (Cancelled), is of channel shape 22 and may have a channel shaped member 23 joined to it, e.g., by welding. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
