Abstract
590,119. Feeding sheets. BOBST ET FILS, SOC. ANON., J. April 12, 1945, No. 9187. Convention date, June 26,1944. [Class 100 (i)] Sheets are fed to machines by means of a roller 4, which is driven intermittently in a counterclockwise direction or is oscillated, and with roller 4 co-operates a number of freely mounted rollers 7 mounted in lever arms 11, 12 on an ocsillating shaft 10 which moves the rollers 7 into and out of contact with the roller 4. The sheets pass from the rollers 4, 7 to a freely mounted roller 24 with which co-acts a number of rollers 25 mounted on lever arms 28 and pressed into contact with roller 24 by means of springs 26. The arms 12 are adjustable axially along the shaft 10 and are locked in position by screwed blocks engaging a longitudinal groove in shaft 10, and the arms 11 are pressed by springs 14 into positions controlled by the engagement of extensions of the. arms with screws 16, which can be adjusted to ensure that all the rollers 7 come into action simultaneously. The shaft 10 is oscillated bv a lever 21, link 22. and lever 23.
