[Class 21] [Also in Group XXII] A cask made of stainless steel or other metal comprises cup-shaped end portions 11, 12 butt welded to a central ring portion 13 provided with an opening to receive a section 5 secured to the outer end of a bung bushing 56. A reinforcing plate 59 of the same size and shape as the section 55 is secured to the inner end of the bushing, and the plate 59 and the section 55 are secured to the ring portion 13 around the opening. A reinforcing ring 57 may be positioned around the bushing 56. Steps or corrugations 18, 19 may be provided to strengthen the end portions 11, 12 and tapping means 24 may be mounted in the end portions.
