589,418. Automatic control systems for electric supply circuits BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and STEWART, C. March 22, 1945, No. 7275. [Class 38 (iv)] An automatic voltage regulator for a generator has two relays, one of which is fed from the regulator transformer and cuts the regulator out of circuit when the voltage falls substantially because of a local failure and the other of which is more quick acting, is fed from a separate transformer and acts to nullify the action of the former relay when the fall in voltage is due to a fault or a heavy load on the main system. The second relay, with or without a slave relay, may be common to a plurality of regulators.
