[Class 61 (ii)] A device for scribing trim lines such as 57<1>, 58<1>, Fig. 8, on a workpiece 56, particularly on elongated sections or profiles which are curved in one or more planes,comprises means for holding a support 24 for the workpiece to be scribed, which support may be the forming die for the workpiece, having its upper part 55 shaped exactly to the contour of the workpiece 56, and one or more universally-adjustable guides 53 for the scribers. An elongated table 13 on legs 11 is provided along the edges with ways 15 along which are adapted to slide transversely disposed members 19 having blocks 22 with clamp screws 23 for gripping the workpiece supports 24. Also adapted to move along the ways are a number of other transverse members 28, each provided with a handwheel 34, shaft 32 and pinion 35 engaging a rack 18 extending along the middle of the table for traversing the members 28 therealong ; each member 28 has a plate 37 rotatably adjustable about a pivot 40 and provided with uprights 36 on which slide vertically adjustable shoes 44 with pivot pins 48 on which are supported angularly-adjustable slotted guides 53 for the scribers 59. In use the supports 24 are first set up on the blocks 22 and the scriber guides 53 manipulated on their universal mountings, so that the scribers 59, when moved therein follow exactly the locating lines 57, 58, Fig. 8, marked on the supports 24 ; thereafter the workpiece 56 is laid on the supports and the trim lines 57<1>, 581 marked thereon by the scribers drawn along the guides.
