Abstract
587,691. Cooking apparatus. SPOONER, W. W. Sept. 15, 1944, No. 17647. [Class 28 (i)] The cooking liquid, for example oil or fat 2 in a chamber 1 is circulated by a pump 5 through a second chamber 16 where it is heated, e.g., by electric resistances or a steam coil 17, the surface of the liquid being also heated by hot air or gas jets blown through nozzles 12 by a pump 15, such air &c. being heated by resistance 14. Instead of the second chamber 16 heating resistances may be coiled round the pipe 3 and enclosed in an alternative chamber. A food, to be cooked, e.g., fish, is placed on a conveyer 9 through an opening 8- and is delivered by the other end through a gravity closing gate 10 to a chute 11. Further hot air jets may also be applied to the base or sides of the heating chamber 16 or to the liquid therein. Specification 587,690 is referred to.
