Abstract

586,851. Optical systems. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and DYSON, J. June 14, 1944, No. 11357. [Class 97 (i)] Spherical aberration of spherical mirror A is corrected by a hemispherical refracting member B of uniform thickness placed in front of the mirror and concentric therewith. In an alternative the convex side of the member B is towards the mirror and n, figured refracting plate, for example of plastic compound, may be placed at the common centre of curvature to effect final correction. Data are given in the Specification, and Specification 544,694 is referred to.
