[Class 140] [Also in Group IX] A tyre carcase comprises layers of tyre fabric (see Group IX) coated with a vulcanizable rubber mix, the fabric having a weft which dissolves in the mix during the heating carried out to effect vulcanisation. To improve adhesion between the warp cords and the carcase, the warp cords or the whole fabric may be treated with rubber latex or a dispersion of rubber to which synthetic resin has been added. Specifications 448,639 and 538,652, [both in Group IX], are referred to.
