Abstract

585,961. Suspending curtains. HYGIENIC WIRE WORKS, Ltd., DOWDALL, A. E., DOWDALL, J. T., and HAYCRAFT, P. E, Aug. 11, 1944, No. 15333. [Class 52 (v)] A sheet metal curtain suspension fixture comprises a pair of fixing plates 10, a vertical fascia board 17, the ends of which are turned to form flanges 19 and curtain rails and associated roller gear formed as a unit with the fascia board. The flanges 19 are detachably connected to the plates 10 by brackets 34, bolts 15 and wing nuts 36. The rails 37, 37a are of inverted U-shape and are secured at their overlapping inner ends to a Z-shaped angle bracket attached to the fascia board. Carriages 48 carrying curtain suspension rings 50 are drawn along the rails by a continuous cord 52 attached to the leading carriage 51 on each rail and adapted to pass over a horizontal pulley 53 and two vertical pulleys 54. Hooks 72 pressed out from the front face of each fixing plate 10 provide attachment members for the ends of the curtains.
