Abstract
585,051. Vices. CLAUSEN, N. P. July 24, 1944, No. 14103. [Class 61 (ii)] A vice comprises a body part 2 carrying at one end a fixed jaw 1 and a movable jaw 4 slidable along the body part towards and away from the fixed jaw 1. The movable jaw is seated on the upper surface of the body part 2 and a tongue 6, 7 and 10, depending from the underside of the movable jaw through a slot in the body part, serves to guide the movable jaw 4. An operating screw 5 engages the movable jaw. The upper faces of the fixed and movable jaws, their side faces, the side faces of the body part and the end face of the fixed jaw are all truly plane and perpendicular or, as the case may be, parallel to one another.
