Abstract

584,864. Printing hand-stamps. NATIONAL CASH REGISTER CO., Ltd. (National Cash Register Co.). Aug 17, 1944, No. 15705. [Class 100 (ii)] A hand-stamp is fitted with a printing-plate 10 having a type member 11 formed thereon and an absorbent backing 12 of wick or of blotting paper supplied with ink through an aperture 16 in the body of the stamp, the printing-plate being formed of two layers of micro-porous rubber having the outer layer of a finer porous structure than the inner layer. A non-compressible ring 14 surrounds the printing-plate and prevents too heavy pressure being put upon the recording material, and thus prevents blurring and prolongs the life of the plate. The plate is prepared in the manner set forth in Specification 582,474. A rotary hand-stamp may be similarly constructed of a printing-surface formed of two porous layers, and the cylindrical surface is protected in use by annular bearer rings which prevent blurring &c.
