Abstract
584,229. Folding baby-carriages. SIMPSON, FAWCETT, & CO., Ltd., and SIMPSON, B. Dec. 18, 1944, No. 25406. [Class 108 (i)] A folding two-wheeled baby-carriage comprises a U-shaped frame a, one end a<1> of which forms the handle while the other ends a<2> form the supporting legs, an auxiliary frame d pivoted to the main frame at e and carrying the wheel axle c, a carrier frame f pivoted to the main frame at or near e and -foldable links i connecting the carrier frame to the main frame. A seat h, of plywood, leather &c. with or without a footrest k is supported by the carrier frame. The auxiliary frame d moves into proximity to the main frame, as shown in Fig. 1, when carriage is being wheeled and swings rearward against a stop l into the position shown in Fig. 2 when the carriage is tilted on to the legs a<2>. When the joints of the links i are broken, the carrier frame can be folded against the main frame for stowage purposes.
